Prince Albert, Princess Charlène (48), and their twins, Jacques and Gabriella (11), visited Les Baux-de-Provence together on September 5. The town in Provence is part of the “Grimaldi Historic Sites of Monaco.”
In photos from the visit, the family can be seen strolling through the streets, attending official events, and posing for group pictures. Under the sunny skies, Albert and Jacques wore suits and blazers, respectively, while Charlène and Gabriella opted for light summer dresses.
Cool Looks: The Monaco Twins Are Just as Stylish as Their Parents
The photos show the twins doing more than simply posing for official group pictures. Jacques and Gabriella also walked side by side through the town’s narrow streets and later watched a falconry demonstration with their parents.
Both twins accessorized their outfits with dark, stylish sunglasses. Gabriella wore a simple white summer dress, while Jacques opted for a blue blazer, white shirt, and beige pants. Charlène looked elegant in a long, dark dress decorated with green-and-white flowers, while her husband wore a dark blue suit.
Prince Albert Traveled to Provence with Charlène and the Twins
The visit had been announced in advance by the Monegasque Palace. The trip had a historical significance: Under the Treaty of Péronne, the lordship of Les Baux was elevated to a marquisate in 1642 and granted to Hercule Grimaldi. Since then, the Monegasque heir to the throne has traditionally held the title “Marquis des Baux.” The title passed to Jacques upon his birth in 2014.
Jacques Is Symbolically Presented with the Keys to the City
The highlight of the visit was an official ceremony on the esplanade of the former castle. There, Jacques was symbolically presented with the keys to the city. His father received the same honor in 1982, when he was still Crown Prince, in the presence of Princess Grace. Jacques was also invited to sign the guest book.
