Tim Curry has died at the age of 80. The British actor died on August 25 at his home in the Toluca Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles. Coronary heart disease was cited as the primary cause of death, as eu.usatoday reported, citing documents from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. A previous stroke and kidney cancer were cited as additional contributing pre-existing conditions. According to the report, these two conditions were not the direct cause of death.

In the years leading up to his death, Curry had spoken openly about his health. At an anniversary screening of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” he said of the effects of his 2012 stroke: " I still can't walk, which is why I'm in this silly chair, and that's very limiting." The actor went on to say, according to rollingstone: "So I won’t be singing and I won’t be dancing very soon. I still have real problems with my left leg.”
The breakthrough came with “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”
The actor had his breakthrough in 1975 with "The Rocky Horror Picture Show". His role as Dr. Frank-N-Furter brought him international fame. This was followed by memorable appearances in “It,” “Clue,” “Annie,” “Oscar,” “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York,” “Muppet Treasure Island,” and “Addams Family Reunion.” On stage, he received a Tony nomination in 1981 for “Amadeus.” Additional nominations followed later for “My Favorite Year” and “Spamalot.”
