• Sofia & Carl Philip of Sweden are parents again
  • Their children look so cute
  • King Carl Gustaf's name faux-pas

Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Philip of Sweden recently shared the joyous news of their daughter, Princess Ines’ birth. To celebrate, they delighted royal fans with new family photos on Instagram.

The heartwarming images capture their three sons—Prince Alexander, Prince Gabriel, and Prince Julian—adorably embracing their baby sister. In their post, Sofia and Carl Philip expressed gratitude for the warm wishes, calling their children a "perfect little quartet." They added a heartfelt message: "Thank you so much for all the lovely congratulations to our little Ines."

King Carl Gustaf's name faux pas

The official announcement of Princess Ines Marie Lilian Silvia’s name was made by King Carl Gustaf during a council meeting at Stockholm Palace. However, a minor faux pas occurred when the king initially mispronounced his granddaughter's name, calling her “Inse” before quickly correcting himself. A palace spokeswoman later explained that the king had only learned of the name shortly before the ceremony and expressed his sincere apologies for the slip-up.

In addition to her name, the newborn princess was also given the title Duchess of Västerbotten. Princess Ines is the ninth grandchild of King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia. Princess Victoria and her husband, Prince Daniel, have two children, while Princess Madeleine and Chris O'Neill have three.
