Lisa Marie Presley died on Jan. 12 at the age of only 54. After a cardiac arrest, she was first resuscitated and rushed to the hospital. Shortly thereafter, however, she passed away.

The only daughter of rock legend Elvis Presley leaves behind, among others, her 14-year-old twins Harper and Finley.

Now the father of the girls, Michael Lockwood, wants to take care of them, according to his lawyer Joe Yanny.

"Michael had been hoping for a speedy and complete recovery because her children needed her," the lawyer has told Entertainment Tonight.

"Michael's world has been turned on its ear. He is with both of his daughters now," Yanny added.

When Lisa Marie Presley and Michael Lockwood separated in 2016 after 10 years of marriage, a public dispute over custody of the twins ensued.

In the end, it was decided that the parents would have joint custody of the children. We hope for the best for them...
