Despite the controversy and challenging summer for Ellen DeGeneres, she's back full force with season 18! Showing she's still got it, DeGeneres had some welcome A-lister friends on for her first episode.

Appearing for his first debut on the small screen, Eduardo Baldwin, son to Alec Baldwin and Hilaria Baldwin, was all coos and smiles as DeGeneres welcomed her friends on the air!

Alec and Hilaria show off their adorable son on Ellen show

Born just on September 8, Eduardo made his TV debut with his A-lister parents, and little did he know he was meeting the talk show host everyone's been talking about!

During the virtual interview, Alec, who was originally solo, was teased by DeGeneres for rumours he stopped to get food while his wife was going into labour.

"That's not true Ellen, and I resent my wife for lying that I put my gastronomic needs ahead of her needs," the actor joked, before calling his wife over. "Let's call the witness to the witness stand."

Hilaria then comes into frame holding her sweet newborn son, cradled up in her arms. "I have photographic proof," she said. "I was taking photos so it's really hard for you to not agree with me."

Laughing it off, Hilaria admits, "In his defence, it was my idea."

Continuing on to share their experience, Hilaria shares she never lets the comedian into the room until she's had her epidural.

"The last two babies that I had, I didn't invite him while I was in labour until I got my epidural because he drives me crazy," she said. "This time during COVID, it's much more complicated and he had to come with me. So we're walking around and my contractions are going and I'm like, 'Please eat something because later on I'm going to kill you if you don't eat something because I'm not going to be able to handle you.'"

"So yes," she continued. "It was my idea. And I just bounced from side to side timing my contractions while he shoved a quiche in his mouth."

Hilaria lifts up the newborn to show DeGeneres the adorable wee bundle, adding that he's "always attached" to her and that despite her hopes for a girl, she thinks "he's perfect."

Alec Baldwin shows support for Ellen DeGeneres

Before launching into talking about his children, Alec Baldwin did have some choice words for his friend, making sure she knew he was supporting her throughout all the controversy.

"Before we talk about my kids, Ellen, I just want to say you are someone, I have followed your career from when you were doing stand-up and you were a solo performer," he said.

"I have watched the films you've done, and I've watched your success on this TV show, and you are one of the funniest and most talented women, one of the most funny and talented people, in all of show business," he continued.

Baldwin then shares with the host how she should never quit, despite the hardships she's endured the past few months.

"We all have some patches of white water here," he said. "But you keep going. Don’t you stop doing what you’re doing."

DeGeneres was deeply touched and thanked Baldwin, adding that his words "meant so much" to her.

"There have been some rapids and I am maneuvering the raft," the host said. "But thank you so much for saying that."

DeGeneres addressed the controversy on Monday for her premiere episode, which had the highest viewer rating since 2016, according to the New York Post.
