They were very close growing up. However, fate was not kind to Michael: he has suffered from developmental disabilities since childhood and almost died of heart disease at the age of 13. While on the show 'The Checkup With Dr. David Agus' at the end of 2022, Ashton Kutcher told of the huge shock when his brother was on the verge of cardiac arrest.
Ashton had no regard for his life
"His heart monitor only showed one line. Then they grabbed me and took me out. And I was like, 'What the hell is going on here?'," Ashton said. When it became so life-threatening that Ashton had to say goodbye to his brother, the now-film star had the idea of sacrificing himself.
