Billy Dee Williams is currently promoting The Rise of Skywalker, the ninth installment of the Star Wars saga, and gave an interview to Esquire. In said interview the actor best known for their portrayal of the sneaky and smart "Lando Calrissian", opened up about their identity.

"I never tried to be anything except myself," he said.  "I think of myself as a relatively colourful character who doesn’t take himself or herself too seriously… And you see I say 'himself' and 'herself', because I also see myself as feminine as well as masculine."

Billy Dee Williams: "I'm not afraid to show that side of myself"

The actor added: "I'm a very soft person. I'm not afraid to show that side of myself." Williams was last seen as "Lando" in 1983's Return of the Jedi, which marked episode 6 of the famous space saga.

Many people are speculating that the return of his character could also be the last appearance of "Lando" in the franchise. Williams commented on that as well:

"It's a conclusion—certainly it depends on how much money is generated. That's when they determine where's the conclusion," Williams added with a wink. "The one thing about show business, you can resurrect anything."

After coming out in the interview, Williams received loads of support via social media, especially on Twitter.
