Model Presley Gerber has died. The son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber died Sunday at the age of 27 at a rehabilitation facility in the Los Angeles area. According to the medical examiner, paramedics pronounced him dead at 9:45 a.m. on September 20. The Santa Monica Police Department is investigating.

An official cause of death has not yet been determined. The family confirmed his death and asked for “privacy during this very difficult and painful time,” according to a family spokesperson cited by TMZ.

Presley Gerber Lived in a House on the Grounds

At the time of his death, the 27-year-old was living with several other residents in an apartment building on the grounds of the rehabilitation facility. According to TMZ, the family was told that an overdose was suspected.

The medical examiner has not yet commented on the matter, stating only that the investigation remains ongoing and that limited information is currently available. A postmortem examination, including toxicology testing, has not yet been completed.

In addition, The U.S. Sun reported that both police and the fire department were dispatched to the addiction treatment center, where they “took life-saving measures.” The newspaper also reported that there was “no suspicion of a crime” and that Gerber’s death is “currently being investigated as a suspected overdose.”

An Early Start as a Model Alongside His Family

Presley followed in the footsteps of his mother and sister, Kaia Gerber, at an early age. At 15, he signed with IMG Models, and a year later, he walked the runway at a Moschino Resort show in Los Angeles.

The family was last seen together in public in June. In recent years, Presley had spoken openly about struggles with addiction and mental health that had affected him since his youth.

Arrest in 2018 and Later Discussions About Therapy

In December 2018, Presley was arrested in Beverly Hills for driving under the influence after being pulled over for speeding. He later did not enter a formal plea in the case but accepted the charge and was sentenced to three years of probation, community service, and a DUI program, according to Page Six.

In 2020, he drew attention after having the word “misunderstood” tattooed on his face, but he had the tattoo removed with a laser a year later. In 2023, he said on a podcast that he had undergone extensive therapy and wanted to help others facing similar struggles.

Speaking Openly About Addiction and One Last Public Glimpse

In December 2025, Gerber publicly revealed that he had struggled with an addiction to prescription drugs. He also said that he had not consumed alcohol since July 2025 and had been sober for five months at the time.

His sister, Kaia, spoke shortly before his death in Vogue about how deeply addiction had affected the family and how private his parents had kept the matter for a long time.

In March, Presley posted photos on Instagram from a wellness clinic in Cancún, where he participated in an ibogaine ceremony. His mother later praised him for his “warrior” spirit.
