Christine Baranski: Her Best Roles So Far

Born May 2, 1952 Christine Baranski was born into a family of talent! Her Polish grandparents were both involved in the Polish theater, and Christine knew at an early age she wanted to become an actress. After graduating NYC's prestigious Juilliard School in 1974 the actress would start her career on Broadway.

After starring in numerous Broadway plays including Hide & Seek (1980) and a Tony Award winning performance in The Real Thing (1984), Christine Baranski would venture into television with hit sitcom Cybill in 1995. The series ran for 3 years and, while she has been nominated 15 times, Christine would win her only Emmy Award to date for Outstanding Supporting Actress!

One of Christine Baranski's first big roles in film would come with 1996's Birdcage. Baranski shined in this comedy as "Katherine Archer" and the series won a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture!

Also starring Reese Witherspoon and Selma Blair, 1999's Cruel Intentions is a must see film! Adapted from a French novel Les Liaisons dangereuses, the film follows a group of high school students and their families as they navigate the dangers that come with wealth and power in NYC. 

Christine Baranski would enter the new millennium with a bang! Starring as "Martha May Whovier" in this Christmas classic, Christine has now become a face that almost every household in America recognizes!

One of our absolute favorite Christine Baranski roles is Christine as "Tanya" in 2008's musical comedy Mamma Mia!. The film was so successful that 2018 brought a sequel film also starring Baranski, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again! 

2014 would bring another musical film for Christine Baranski, allowing her to further put her Broadway background to use! Into the Woods takes a modern twist on the classic fairy tale Cinderella, and we just love Christine in her role of "Cinderella's stepmother"! 

While 2017's sequel of Bad Moms, A Bad Moms Christmas, received mixed reviews, Christine Baranski absolutely shines in this comedy! Also starring Mila Kunis and Kristen Bell, the film is worth seeing for the actresses alone! 

Christine Baranski has also starred in some major television roles over the years, including in hit political drama The Good Wife! Starring in 156 episodes over the shows seven seasons, the show has received numerous awards and critical acclaim!

It is hard to believe the gorgeous and talented actress will be 72 this month, and Christine Baranski continues to shine on and off-screen! Don't miss her in her role of "Diane Lockhart" on 'The Good Wife' spin-off 'The Good Fight'!
