The American actress Kelly Bishop has been active in the film industry since the mid-1960s, however, she came to prominence after appearing in the 1987 film Dirty Dancing, where she portrayed "Marjorie", the mother of Jennifer Grey's "Frances 'Baby' Houseman", after actually being cast in a much smaller part.
