On Wednesday, Melissa Lingafelt, who goes by Jimi Ono on social media, posted a TikTok video describing her relationship with her ex-boyfriend and actor, Drake Bell, detailing times of abuse.

Lingafelt accused Bell, now 34, of both verbal and physical abuse, and shares some harrowing stories. Bell has spoken since the videos were posted, and announced he denies having any involvement in domestic violence, saying he is taking legal action against these allegations.

Melissa Lingafelt recounts verbal and physical abuse

Drake Bell is denying any involvement in abuse with his ex-girlfriend, Melissa Lingafelt, and has released a statement sharing he will be taking legal action to protect his name.

In a statement released to People, Bell said that he "never abused my ex-girlfriend or did so many of the other things Melissa falsely claimed on her TikTok video."

Lingafelt dated the Drake & Josh star for 2 years in 2006 and started off her video saying, "First off I'd like to start out by saying, I don't really care if anyone believes me, as this is my story and my life, and something that I went through."

She then goes on to share how she was just 16 at the time when she moved in with Bell, hoping to start her singing career.

"I moved in with him, I was singing. It wasn't until about a year when the verbal abuse started," she said. "And when I say verbal abuse, imagine the worst type of verbal abuse you could ever imagine, and that was what I got."

"It then turned to physical — hitting, throwing, everything," she added, continuing on to explain a time when Bell allegedly dragged her down the stairs as her face hit the steps.

She also shared snippets of photos, adding, "I don't even want to get into the underage girl's thing," she added. "I mean I will, but I'm scared."

On Instagram, Lingafelt wrote a post saying, "Everyone that really knows me and has been a friend of mine for the past 15 years, knows all too well of the abuse that Drake Bell put me through."

"I have so many witnesses, I have photos, it was my life. If you don't believe me, it is clear to me what kind of person you are, and I don't need that on my side," she continued.

Bell added in his statement, "As our relationship ended — more than a decade ago — we, unfortunately, both called each other terrible names, as often happens when couples are breaking up. But that's it."

"Clearly," he added, "Melissa still felt close enough to me just last year that she was comfortable reaching out to ask me to provide her with financial support during a tough time (which I did)," he said before adding he will be taking legal action against Lingafelt.

"I do not know if today’s behaviour is some kind of misguided quest for more money or attention," Bell said.

"But I cannot and will not allow these offensive and defamatory allegations to go unchallenged and I am reviewing my legal options," he added.
