Elizabeth Mitchell was born in Los Angeles, California in 1970 and moved to Dallas, Texas that same year. Mitchell graduated from Stephens College in 1996 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and then went on to study at the British American Drama Academy in London, England.

Her first role was as "Dinah Lee" in the soap opera Loving from 1994 until 1995. Mitchell then went on to have a couple of guest spots on different TV shows like JAG and Time of Your Life

In 2000, the actress starred in season 7 of ER as "Dr. Kim Legaspi" and then, in 2001, was cast as "Carol Newman" in The Santa Clause 2, alongside Tim Allen.

Elizabeth Mitchell: "Juliet Burke" on LOST

Elizabeth Mitchell returned to TV and guest-starred on Law & Order: SVU and CSI. After appearing as "Santa Claus'" love interest again in the 2006 movie The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause, her biggest TV role so far came in 2006 when she was cast as "Juliet Burke" on ABC's smash hit LOST. She spent four years on the show and appeared in a total of 46 episodes alongside "James 'Sawyer' Ford, played by Josh Holloway.

Mitchell was actually part of another successful TV show from 2012 until 2014, NBC's Revolution as "Rachel Matheson" and returned to the big screen in 2016 with an appearance in The Purge: Election Year. Her most notable recent TV role was in 2018 in The Expanse as "Dr. Anna Volovodov".

Elizabeth Mitchell married actor Chris Soldevilla in 2004 and their son was born in 2005. The couple divorced in 2013 - Mitchell now lives on a ranch in Bainbridge Island, Washington and shares snapshots from her private life via social media from time to time.
