Elle Fanning is getting political as she stuns on the cover of Vanity Fair's upcoming October issue. The actress talks about matters that are important to her and shares how she feels about the current social justice conversations.

Along with politics, Fanning speaks on working alongside her sister, Dakota Fanning, for the first time on the big screen!

Elle reveals her thoughts on important issues

Elle Fanning stuns on the cover of Vanity Fair and talks about some important issues, such as Black Lives Matter, and current social justice reform.

"Black Lives Matter cannot be a trend," the Maleficent actress said. "This is a movement that has to stay alive, and every day we have to commit. I’ve dedicated myself to learning what local officials stand for because voting in local elections is so important."

Elle also had a gig working with her sister in the now-postponed film, The Nightingale. The film follows two sisters in France during the Nazi occupation in World War II. It is the first time Dakota and Elle will appear in a film together.

"We’re playing sisters, and it’s the first time we’ve ever been onscreen together, so it’s a special project for us," Fanning said.

As for their lives during the pandemic, Fanning says, she and her sister have grown much closer as they spent some time isolating together.

"You’re not interested in the same things and you’re bickering and fighting," she said. "We can relate on so many different levels. Now we’re in this phase where we get drunk and shock each other with stories of what we did in high school that the other didn’t know."
