The reveal of X Æ A-12 Musk's name may have left many speechless... but at least we now have a proper pronunciation guide for the child's name!

Elon Musk and Grimes welcomed their son on Monday, May 4. Since then, we've had photos, an explanation of what the name means, and a public scolding by Grimes on Elon surrounding the initial announcement.

But on Thursday, Musk appeared on The Joe Rogan Experience, where he provided additional insight into the name. Now, we know who came up with each part of the name and how to pronounce it.

In conversation with Joe Rogan, Musk revealed that his partner, Canadian musician Grimes, "mostly came up with the name." "Yeah, she's great at names," he added.

But the "A-12" portion was the Tesla CEO's contribution to the name. "The Archangel-12, the precursor to the SR-71, the coolest plane ever," he told Rogan.

As for the elusive pronunciation of the name, Musk cleared that up as well.

"It's just 'X,' the letter 'x'," he began. "And then, the 'Æ' is pronounced 'Ash.' And then 'A-12'."

So, a rough phonetic pronunciation of the name might look something like: "Ex Ash Eh-Twelve." That's not so bad, after all! (Is it?)

The child is Grimes' first and Musk's sixth, as he'd had five sons in a previous marriage. The new parents have been together since 2018.

On being a father again at age 48, Musk told Rogan: "I think it's better being older and having a kid. I appreciate it more. Babies are awesome. They're awesome."
