Sian Clifford was born on April 7, 1982 in London, England. Growing up, she knew she wanted to be an actress and so she participated in youth theatre. Sian attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and that is where she met her future co-star and friend, Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Sian Clifford's life before Fleabag 

During her first ten years of her career, she became a well-known Off West End actress. Some of her notable productions include Without Laughing, Contraction, Listening Out, Not the End of the World, and Burial at Thebes

In 2010, she starred in the well-reviewed Pieces of Vincent and also had a supporting role in Pains of Youth at the Royal National Theatre in London. Clifford then starred in the original production of Beauty and the Beast finishing out that year.
