While most of us only dream of looking like Gwyneth Paltrow, it would seem the A-list celebrity and Goop founder still struggles with body image, and it is getting harder as she gets older!

Turning 49 this year, Gwyneth says that she had to come to terms with her ageing and that it hasn't always been easy, especially living in Hollywood!

Gwyneth comes to terms with a changing body

During an interview with People magazine, Gwyneth Paltrow said that she's her worst critic, and as she ages it's proving to be a major challenge.

"Unfortunately, we're always looking at ourselves with a critical eye," she said, going on to admit that she wants to "show up" for herself in a more loving way.

"... it's all going south from here! There's nothing we can do about it," she jokes.

Like most women, the majority of her body image issues appeared after the birth of her first child, Apple, 17, with her ex-husband Chris Martin.

"I was just coming out of my 20s when you're in that sexy, young girl phase," she said.

She adds, "And then you're like, 'Well, how do I reconcile who I am now with that?' For me, it was really about giving myself time to be a mother and letting my body dictate where it was going."

She revealed that part of her exploration with body image in her series on Netflix, coming out this October 21, will dive into what makes women so self-conscious, and how they can learn to love themselves properly.

"Some women feel when they have kids that they don't feel sexual because their body isn't back yet," she said. "But it's like, 'Who said our bodies have to look a certain way?'"

Paltrow continues to say that for her, the ageing process is more about seeing a light within.

She says, "I realize it's less about, 'Oh, I have this wrinkle, am I going to fix it or not?' and more, 'Do I feel vibrant?'"

"I would never want to go back to my 20s, or even my 30s for that matter," she revealed. "I know myself, I like myself and I am so grateful for the wisdom that comes with age."

Sex, Love, & Goop comes out October 21 on Netflix and will feature 5 couples as they navigate relationships and ageing.
