Hayden Panettiere (32) now speaks openly about the darkest chapter of her life. The actress and ex-girlfriend of Wladimir Klitschko (46) was addicted to alcohol and pills for years. This also affected her family life.

She confirmed this to People magazine and explained that she had been in rehab for eight months.

Hayden Panettiere first got involved with drugs when she was 15

At the age of 15, the then-young actress came in contact for the first time with "happy pills". As she got older, Hayden Panettiere turned to alcohol and other pills. After her pregnancy in 2014, things got even worse. After the birth of little Kaya, whom she shares with Klitschko, she suffered from postpartum depression.

The actress helped herself at the time with alcohol and opiates. A strain on her relationship with the ex-boxer. "He didn't want to be around me. I didn't want to be around me. But with the opiates and alcohol, I was doing anything to make me feel happy for a moment. Then I'd feel worse than I did before. I was in a cycle of self-destruction," she revealed in the interview. 

She also felt negative feelings towards her daughter: "I never had the feeling that I wanted to harm my child, but I didn't want to spend any time with her." 

Her relationship with Klitschko fell apart and Panettiere took the hard step and sent her daughter to live with him in Ukraine in 2018. Learn more about the story in the video above...
