According to police, officers were called to the restaurant around 9:10 p.m. to respond to a physical altercation. As reported by the Greenville Police Department, Brian Hickerson and his brother, Zach, were involved in a dispute with other patrons. Several people were initially detained during the investigation. Brian was allowed to leave the restaurant after his identity was verified.
No charges were filed against him. Zach Hickerson, on the other hand, remained at the scene and was subsequently taken to the Greenville County Detention Center.
Zach Hickerson Was Arrested for Disorderly Conduct
Police stated that Zach Hickerson was heavily intoxicated and had been shouting obscenities in public. He was subsequently arrested for disorderly conduct and released the following day.
In a video released later, he commented on the reactions to the incident. According to Rolling Stone, Zach Hickerson said: “This is the problem with y'all putting stuff on the internet. People fill in their own holes, and they want to attack people for no reason.” He did not provide further details about the exact circumstances of his arrest but said he would explain what happened at a later point.
Videos Show a Scuffle and Brian Shouting
Additional footage reportedly shows the situation escalating inside the bar. According to reports, Brian Hickerson threw a barstool backward while several people shouted, “Stop!” He was later reportedly picked up by someone and carried out of the restaurant.
In another video, Hickerson is seen sitting in front of the bar with blood on his face. According to TMZ, he says: “GPD leaked it when my girlfriend died.” It has not been publicly clarified exactly what he was referring to in the statement.
The Investigation Into Hayden Panettiere’s Death Continues
The incident occurred just under a month after Hayden Panettiere’s death. The actress died on August 16 at an apartment complex in South Carolina. According to reports, Brian and Zach Hickerson found her unconscious and called emergency services. Zach later said that his brother had administered Narcan while he himself called for help. However, police have not publicly confirmed this account.
The cause of death has not yet been made public, and the results of the autopsy and toxicology report are still pending. Through his attorney, Brian stated on August 20 that the investigation should run its course and that there was no evidence of foul play.
