James McAvoy is a married man — and he's finally confirming that!
McAvoy, 42, has been with Lisa Liberati since 2016, and tabloids have been suggesting they secretly married as far back as 2019. Now we know for sure: they are married.

In a new interview, McAvoy told The Guardian that he "recently" tied the knot with Liberati. He offered no further comment "for fear of creating tabloid fodder."
The couple met while McAvoy was starring in Split in 2016. Liberati was an assistant on the M. Night Shyamalan film.
The Scottish actor is notoriously private, so his marriage announcement is pretty on-brand. In his previous marriage, McAvoy once even said he and his wife had a "policy not to speak about each other in public."
