The 79-year-old television personality Alex Trebek, better known for hosting the legendary game show Jeopardy! for more than three decades, will be honoured with the Icon Award at the Canadian Screen Awards next year! Originally from Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, the amazing Alex holds the Guinness World Record for hosting the most episodes of a game show. Unfortunately, earlier this year he revealed he has stage IV pancreatic cancer and fans have been supporting him in the sweetest ways possible!

This is what we know about the Canadian Screen Awards

Produced by the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television, the Canadian Screen Awards will take place from March 23 to 29, 2020, in Toronto. Other stars set to receive a Special Award this time are science broadcaster David Suzuki, and North of 60 star Tina Keeper, who will be honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Earle Grey Award, respectively.
