In 2023, Springer was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and at the end of April, he got worse and worse. On April 27, 2023, he passed away peacefully at his home.
"Jerry’s ability to connect with people was at the heart of his success in everything he tried whether that was politics, broadcasting or just joking with people on the street who wanted a photo or a word," family spokesperson Jene Galvin said according to 'TVLine'.
Springer was a controversial figure. In addition to his TV successes, he also worked as a politician and actor.
