The reason John Legend and Kanye West broke up
On The Axe Files podcast, the singer revealed that he realized how different their view on many things really is. Particularly, when it comes to politics. Kanye being a supporter of ex-US President Donald Trump was a thorn in John's side.
"We aren't friends as much as we used to be. I honestly think because we publicly disagreed on his running for office and his supporting Trump... So it honestly became too much for us to maintain our friendship", he explains.

Kanye was reportedly extremely angry when his friend didn't support him on his campaign trail. "I wasn’t alone in that, but, you know, he was not happy about that. And we haven't been close since", admits John Legend. In other news, his wife Chrissy Teigen is pregnant again.
Despite everything, he does not wish to speak badly of his former friend. On the other hand, John very much respects how open Kanye West is about his mental health issues, he said.
