• Kevin Bacon channels 'Footloose' to celebrate end of actors' strike
  • Bacon is known for playing "Ren McComack" in the iconic film
  • Fans are going crazy

The Hollywood world is buzzing with relief as the historic strike between SAG-AFTRA and Hollywood studios finally comes to an end. And guess who's leading the celebration? None other than Kevin Bacon (65), who's dusting off his dancing shoes and bringing back his iconic 'Footloose' character to mark the occasion!

The dance heard round the world

Bacon, famous for his role as "Ren McCormack" in the 1984 hit 'Footloose,' took to Instagram to share a video of him recreating the famous warehouse dance scene. With Kenny Loggins' "Footloose" blasting in the background, Bacon shows off his moves, gliding around in cowboy boots in what appears to be a barn. "Strike over!" he captioned the video, to the delight of his fans.

Fans couldn't help but applaud Bacon for nailing the choreography nearly 40 years later. "Ok, this is the best thing I saw on the internet today!" one person commented. "This NEVER gets old — ever!!" another said. "What a treat! Seriously, I feel 13 AGAIN!" a third fan wrote.

End of a historic strike

The SAG-AFTRA strike, which lasted a whopping 118 days, saw more than 150,000 film and television performers demanding better conditions. The union announced a "tentative agreement" on Nov. 8, which was unanimously approved, allowing Hollywood actors to return to movie and film sets.

Other actors also reacted to the news on social media. Mandy Moore thanked the SAG-AFTRA negotiators and leadership for getting them "over the finish line," while Yvette Nicole Brown expressed pride in the resolve shown by all involved.

As the strike officially ends, filming is expected to resume as soon as possible, with some shows returning to set this month or early December.
