Dax Shepard's winning daddy moment

Kristen Bell is praising her hubby Dax Shepard for the perfect response when her 7-year-old daughter was asking some awkward questions about sex.

While appearing on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Bell opened up about the hilarious parenting moment.

"We tried to steal away for a hike the other day," the actress started in her story. "My sister was here watching the kids. We masked up and we were like, 'Oh, we'll just walk down the streets. There’s a great hike near our house'."

"On our way out the door, my seven-year-old stood in the door and she held it open. She goes, 'Uh, are you going to do a sex?'"

The moment caused the couple to freeze, as they were taken aback by the randomness of it all.

"Dax just really quickly said, 'We'd love to, but it's illegal publicly. Bye!' and closed the door," Bell laughed.

In the interview, Bell also talked about encouraging people to keep being kind, saying the "world needs more purple people."

"We wanted to give some social identity language that allowed our kids to look towards other human beings and not just see enemies," she explained.

"Red plus blue equals purple," she said, referencing the two major political colours in America, "And we like to say 'purple people' come in every colour, and it's the idea that you can think for yourself, you can stand up for other people. You can find things in common, even when you disagree," she continued.
