Born on September 9, 1971 in Kansas, Eric Allen Stonestreet was a natural-born talent. Even though his mother was a teacher's aide and his father owned a retail business, respectively, Stonestreet found a way to connect humor and performing at a young age - with clowning.

Just like his character in Modern Family, Stonestreet created "Fizbo" the clown and was even performing at 6-year old birthday parties by age 11. The actor recently revealed the sweet personal story behind "Fizbo"!

Eric Stonestreet: Modern Family "Cam" Before Fame

While attending Kansas State University, he performed in a few plays, such as Prelude to a Kiss, All My Sons, and Twelfth Night. Auditioning for Prelude to a Kiss was actually a dare, but he ended up finding luck in his talent of acting.

After graduating, Stonestreet then moved to Chicago for two years, where he participated in improv classes. After his time in Chicago, he then moved to the city of angels - Los Angeles.

By the late '90s and early 2000s, Stonestreet was getting small roles in sitcoms and movies. His most notable role before Modern Family was his character "Ronnie" in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, which he starred in for 4 years. His other minor roles included series like, The Mentalist, NCIS, and Monk.

Eric Stonestreet: Plays "Cameron Tucker"

By the time he was cast to play "Cameron Tucker" in Modern Family, Stonestreet won the hearts of many. He and Jesse Tyler Ferguson ("Mitch") play two gay dads in the series with their daughter "Lily" (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons). The series has won a total of 22 awards out of 75 nominations. Stonestreet himself has won two of those respective awards. You can catch Stonestreet in the recent film, The Secret Life of Pets 2, released in 2019!

Ever since Modern Family ended in 2020 after 11 seasons, we will have to see what's next for Eric Stonestreet on screen. For now, the actor is very active on social media and loves to show off his lady friend, Lindsay, to whom he got engaged in 2021!
