According to Freeman, Melania whispered to Donald: "Today is one we will never forget" To this, Trump reportedly responded: "You’re right, I’ll learn, I’ll fight." Melania replied, "I got you."
Later, when asked whether he could be "less tricky" (inferred to mean reducing challenges or criticisms), Melania reportedly answered: "No." Trump concluded the exchange by repeating: "I hear you."

During the evening, Donald Trump used his speech to criticise his predecessor, Joe Biden (82). He condemned Biden's decision to issue several last-minute pardons and emphasised the importance of "competence" and "common sense" in America.
