Henry Darrow was born on September 15, 1933, in New York City.

In the '30s, his parents left Puerto Rico to start a new life in the United States. When Henry was 13, they returned to the Caribbean island, where Darrow studied acting and political science at University of Puerto Rico.

Darrow rose to fame for his portrayal of "Manolito" on 'The High Chaparral', from 1967 to 1971. However, before he started to appear in the series, he had already landed roles in at least 70 series and 10 films.

In television, for instance, he appeared in episodes of 'Bonanza', 'Gunsmoke', 'Kojak', 'Quincy, M.E.', 'Knight Rider' and 'The Golden Girls', among many others.

On the big screen, Henry Darrow was cast in 'Rooster', 'Losin' It', 'Maverick' and 'Angels with Angles'. 

He often played Latin characters, including "Don Diego" aka "Zorro" in 'Zorro and Son', beng the first Latin star to portray the iconic character on TV.

In 1956, the 'High Chaparral' actor married Louise DePuy, with whom he welcomed daughter Denise and son Tom. The pair divorced in 1979.

He then went on to marry Lauren Darrow, who appears in this picture next to him at a red carpet event.

Henry Darrow passed away on March 14, 2021, aged 87. The star died of natural causes in Wilmington, North Carolina.

He was cremated and his ashes were scattered at sea.

Actor Henry Darrow was best known for his appearance in 'The High Chaparral' as "Mano", as well as for his role as "Trooper Hancock" in Robert Harmon's film 'The Hitcher'.
