Nick Cannon's five-month-old son Zen has died from brain cancer. During a taping of his new daytime talk show The Nick Cannon Show — which Cannon referred to as a "celebration of life" — the former America's Got Talent host broke the news to the audience that his son died last weekend from complications related to a brain tumor. Fans were quick to show their support and to give their condolences to Nick and his family.

Unfortunately, there was no way to prevent this tragedy. His baby boy had a condition called hydrocephalus. It happens when fluid builds up in the brain's cavities, causing them to widen and put pressure on the brain's tissues. This was too much for a developing brain to handle, and little Zen just couldn't hold on.

Nick Cannon's Baby Dies!

He had undergone surgery in the past to try and alleviate some of the swelling in the brain, but his condition worsened over the American Thanksgiving holiday. Cannon and his partner Alyssa Scott got to spend their baby's last weekend at the beach together.

Cannon has seven children in total who will surely be keeping his spirits up during this difficult period. After his announcement, Cannon invited therapist Dr. Laura Berman on his show to discuss grieving the loss of a child. Viewers applauded his decision to tackle the grief publicly, highlighting the importance of reaching out in moments of great sadness.

We wish him and his family all the best!
