• Chevy Chase is a legendary actor and comedian
  • He was at a 'National Lampoon's' holiday event
  • THIS is what happened to him while he was on stage

Buffalo's Shea's Performing Arts Center was buzzing with anticipation as fans awaited a nostalgic talk about the 1989 holiday hit 'National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.' But before Chevy Chase, the legendary funnyman, could dive into yuletide tales, he gave the audience an unexpected slapstick performance!

You never know with Chevy if it's real...or a joke

Chase, known for his pratfalls on 'Saturday Night Live,' took a spill on a dimly lit part of the stage. His rep quipped to 'People' magazine that is was, "Just a little boo-boo. All good." It seems Chevy's got a Ph.D. in tumbling and it's "like riding a bike again" for him!

In true showbiz fashion, Chase rolled onto the stage in a wheelchair, only to rise to his feet to roaring applause. But the spotlight moment took a twist when he took a nosedive off the stage's edge. Fear not! The comedy veteran was back on his feet in no time, with his wife Jayni Chase by his side, offering a helping hand and a dose of humor to lighten the mood.

In a video shared by TMZ, fans watched in horror as Chevy fell.

Once they had taken their seats, the comedian took a moment to poke fun at his literal slip-up. "Wait, wait my watch is talking to me," he says, raising his smartwatch closer to his face. "It says, ‘I see you’ve taken a great fall.’"

Chase's watch became the unexpected star of the show. Jayni, ever the comedic partner, chimed in, "Otherwise they might send an ambulance," keeping spirits high and ambulances at bay.

According to TMZ, who cited sources close to Chase, the actor fell because he was unable to see where the stage ended due to its bright lights. They noted that Chase was fine and only sustained a bruised knee from the incident.

Chase didn't miss a beat, resharing videos of the event, including the moderator's light-hearted prediction that the fall would be a hot topic for some time. Looking ahead, Chase is set to bring holiday cheer to Christmas Con in Edison, New Jersey, alongside his "Christmas Vacation" family members.

All in all it was a great night. Earlier in the week, Chevy and Jayni were on hand to support Sylvester Stallone at the inaugural "Rocky Day" in Philadelphia.

Chevy Chase's portrayal of "Clark Griswold," the disaster-prone patriarch, is a comedic cornerstone. Alongside Beverly D'Angelo, Randy Quaid, and Juliette Lewis, Chase turned holiday mishaps into laughter that has echoed through the decades.
