As Chad Michael Murray portrayed the heartthrob, "Lucas Scott" in One Tree Hill, his mother was played by Moira Kelly, otherwise known as "Karen Roe" in the series. After she finished filming for the teen hit, Kelly appeared in a number of guest starring roles.

Moira Kelly took part in a few famous series: Law & Order, Heroes, Numb3rs, and Drop Dead Diva. She also went on to film a number of made for TV films, including A Smile as Big as the Moon and Taken Back: Finding Haley, both in 2012. In 2017 and 2018, she starred in two other TV films for the Lifetime channel: Deadly Sorority and Girl in the Bunker.
