The 49-year-old actress Amy Poehler was born in Newton, Massachusetts on September 16, 1971. She is best known for portraying "Leslie Knope" in the NBC show Parks and Recreation from 2009 to 2015, where she shared credits with other celebrities like Nick Offerman, Aziz Ansari, and Chris Pratt

Her role as "Leslie" earned her a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Television Musical or Comedy Series in 2014, as well as a Critics' Choice Award for Best Actress in a Comedy Series two years before, in 2012. Before her work in Parks & Rec Amy was part of the cast of Saturday Night Live, where she appeared from 2001 to 2008, winning a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series, for co-hosting the show with her close friend and also comedian Tina Fey.

Unfortunately, Parks and Recreation ended in 2015, but it seems that Amy Poehler has been working on a series of interesting projects since then. In 2017 she produced the NBC show Making It, which was released in July 2018 with Amy and her Parks & Recreation co-star Nick Offerman as hosts; the debut episode was the highest-rated premiere of summer 2018. 

Later on, Amy Poehler created and executive produced Netflix's comedy-drama series Russian Doll, which premiered in February 2019, starring Orange Is the New Black star, Natasha Lyonne. Poehler has also worked as an executive producer for the shows Welcome to Sweden, Difficult People, and most recently Wine Country. She is currently working as a voice talent in the American animated sitcom Duncanville, which was released in 2020.
