In 2006, Ryan Seacrest started Ryan Seacrest Productions, creating hit reality shows like
'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' (2007–21), 'Denise Richards: It’s Complicated' (2008–09), and 'Khloé & Lamar' (2011–12). He also took over hosting American Top 40, the popular weekly countdown of the top songs in the U.S., following in Casey Kasem’s footsteps.

The Reality Check alum made a cameo on 'Beverly Hills, 90210' as the host of a fake game show. During a 2017 episode of 'Live With Kelly and Ryan', Seacrest recalled, "I was very excited to get that role because when I was a kid in high school, I just wanted to meet Jason Priestley — Brandon Walsh — he was the guy I looked up to. Part of the reason I moved to L.A. was because I watched 'Beverly Hills, 90210' and thought the world was just like that. It's not."

Ryan Seacrest joined Dick Clark's New Year's 'Rockin' Eve' for the 2006 countdown after Dick Clark had a stroke that affected his speech. In 2009, the show was renamed Dick Clark's New Year's 'Rockin' Eve' With Ryan Seacrest.

Ryan Seacrest, the former NBC 'Saturday Night' Movie host, signed a deal with E! to host and produce various shows. He later expanded his role across NBC Universal networks, producing series like 'Shahs of Sunset', 'Married to Jonas', and 'The Wanted Life'.

Seacrest dated Julianne Hough for three years and won his first Emmy for executive producing Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution. He has been nominated 12 times for his work on American Idol but has never won.

Seacrest created 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' after Kris Jenner expressed interest in filming a reality show with her family. The show ran for 20 seasons and led to several spinoffs. Seacrest recalled, "We had a casting director go to their house to shoot a family barbecue. He called me and said, 'It's golden — they're hilarious and chaotic.' We rushed the tape to E!, and that was the beginning."

Seacrest became the permanent cohost of 'Live With Kelly' and Ryan after a lengthy search for a partner for Ripa. Later that year, a former E! stylist accused him of sexual harassment. Seacrest denied the allegations, stating: "I dispute these reckless allegations and I plan to cooperate with any corporate inquiries that may result. I treat all my colleagues with kindness, dignity, and understanding, as this is a principle that's core to who I am."

E! closed its investigation into Seacrest, stating there was "insufficient evidence to support the claims against" him. One month later, Seacrest returned as the host of the relaunched American Idol on ABC.
