Reality TV star Darrell Sheets, a longtime presence on 'Storage Wars,0 has died at 67 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Authorities said officers were called to a residence around 2 a.m. on April 22, where they found Sheets dead at the scene. According to BBC, police said he had suffered from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. The case is still being investigated by local authorities and the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office. Police said the investigation is ongoing, with the criminal investigations unit handling the case alongside the medical examiner. Authorities have also asked anyone with information to contact the Lake Havasu City Police Department. Reports from Arizona said officers responded to a home near U.S. 95 and Acoma Boulevard after a call about a body found. Sheets had been living in Lake Havasu City in recent years after stepping back from television. The official cause of death has not yet been publicly finalized, even as initial details from police have been released.

TV personality Rene Nezhoda, who appeared alongside Sheets for years, posted a tribute after news of the death spread. "I know a lot of you guys think we hated each other, because we competed a lot on the show," Nezhoda said according to BBC. He added that the two were friends away from the cameras and spoke from time to time. Nezhoda also praised Sheets as a hard worker who cared deeply about his family. The comments offered a more personal picture of their relationship beyond the rivalry that played out on screen.

Outside the series, Sheets had a long history in storage auctions and resale. He also appeared on 'The Tonight Show With Jay Leno' and on Rachael Ray’s program during his years in the public eye. After suffering a heart attack in 2019, he retired to Arizona and operated an antique store called Havasu Show Me Your Junk. A&E also honored him after his death.
