Eastwood said the conflict started during a scene involving chewing tobacco on a tank, something he stressed was written into the script. “One day, he was having an episode and thought I shouldn’t be spitting tobacco on the tank — which was in the script — and then I finally said enough is enough,” Eastwood said according to Page Six. The actor then described snapping back after repeated tension. He said he told LaBeouf to stop, then threatened to fight him, painting a picture of a set where tempers had reached a breaking point.
Brad Pitt Stepped In During the Tense Moment
The 40-year-old actor said the confrontation did not go further because Brad Pitt intervened. Eastwood described Pitt as the person who broke up the moment before it turned physical.
