• Lauryn Hill is a singer and rapper
  • She came to prominence in the late 1990s
  • Lauryn has just announced a new tour

Widely considered one of the most influential female artists of her generation, Ms. Lauryn Hill helped to redefine the hip hop genre in many ways. Ms. Lauryn Hill will celebrate the 25th anniversary of her seminal album 'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill' by embarking on a world tour this fall. This is perhaps her most important body of work, and she won't be alone. What’s more, Hill’s band The Fugees will also feature in each of the 11 North American dates. The whole thing will kick off on October 17th in New Jersey, and also includes stops in Brooklyn, Washington, DC, Philadelphia, Toronto, Chicago, Fort Worth, Denver, Los Angeles, Oakland, and Seattle.

Fans will be eager in anticipation

"‘The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill’ is and was a love song to my parents, my family, my people, my musical and cultural forebears, my teachers, my loves, my Creator," Lauryn said of her first album in the release. "I wrote love songs and protest songs— (still love songs) about the subjects and interests that inspired and moved me. I was confident that what inspired me would resonate with an audience that had been led to believe that songs of that kind could only live in the past."

For those of you who are already wondering how you can see them, tickets are to go on sale this Friday, August 25th. This is not the first time the band gets back together. They reconvened in 2021 for their first live performance in 15 years. However, plans for a full-fledged reunion tour were delayed and then canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. So, this is exciting news, indeed.

Also interesting:

This new tour may very well be the last chance to see Fugees live, as Pras Michel was found guilty in late April for his involvement in a billion-dollar Malaysian money laundering scheme. The Fugees co-founding member is currently awaiting sentencing but could face up to 20 years in prison.

It's unfortunate but true. Nevertheless, it shouldn't dampen the mood, and the party is bound to go on. A number of pre-sale tickets will be available in the run up to the public on-sale, including a Live Nation pre-sale set for Thursday, August 24th!
