Selma Blair: Already addicted to alcohol at the age of 7

Selma Blair confesses to People magazine that she became addicted to alcohol at the age of 7. "I don't know if I would've survived childhood without alcoholism," she said. The alcohol gave her comfort and relief. It became her way of dealing with difficult things.

At a Jewish festival, Selma Blair came into contact with kosher wine for the first time. She described the feeling she felt when she first experienced alcohol as a revelation: "I got drunk that night. Very drunk," she recalled.

When she felt bad, she secretly turned to alcohol. Her parents didn't know anything about it. "I became an expert alcoholic, adept at hiding my secret," said the actress. Alcohol accompanied her not only in her childhood, but also later in her youth.
