This is simply a story of Hollywood hair loss heartache! Lili Reinhart,  the beloved 'Riverdale' starlet, has just dropped a bombshell on her fans – she's grappling with alopecia during a "major depressive episode." This is a very difficult reality to face for everyone, but specially for women who are rarely ever affected by it.

In a raw TikTok confessional, the actress, known for her candidness on mental health, synced her emotions to a voiceover, "I'm pushed beyond the limits of what a person should be pushed to endure."

In her battle against baldness, Reinhart has turned to red light therapy, calling it her "new best friend." This high-tech treatment, endorsed by the Cleveland Clinic, is making waves for its promise to rejuvenate skin and boost hair growth for those facing the hair-raising woes of androgenic alopecia.

Not her first battle

Reinhart has previously been publicly open about personal battles, including mental health, depression and anxiety. In 2020, she said in an interview with 'Refinery29' that her career and mental health had its ups and downs, and recalled at one point that she felt like she was in a "black tunnel [that] was never going to end."

"I’ve seen a lot of people when it comes to heartache and grief and breakups, and they try to get that void filled with sex, with coke, with food, with drinking, [but] the void is still there," Reinhart told the outlet at the time. "I took the road less traveled and just dealt with my shit. I had to face my own pain head-on."

Then, in 2021, the Ohio native got real on her Instagram Story, writing, "Some days I feel really defeated by my depression. It’s an exhausting battle that I’ve been fighting for 11 years and some days, like today, it can feel intolerable."

She added, "This is a reminder to my fellow warriors that it’s okay to have days where you don’t want to fight anymore. You don’t need to justify your mental health to anyone. Prioritize yourself when needed, take time to rest. Surround yourself with good people and high vibrations."

This is just the latest chapter in Lili's struggles but the fans will surely be there to help her. With a staggering 6.7 million Americans touched by alopecia, according to the National Alopecia Areata Foundation, Reinhart's revelation isn't just personal—it's a powerful move to destigmatize the condition.

Fans are flooding her comments with love and support, sharing their own hair-raising experiences and thanking the actress for her courage.

Also interesting:

It's not just Lili in the limelight with alopecia. Jada Pinkett Smith has been a vocal warrior against the condition, candidly discussing her own fears and the drastic step to snip her locks in defiance of the disease. In 2018 Jada said this:

"I was in the shower one day and had just handfuls of hair in my hands and I was just like, 'Oh my God, am I going bald?'" she said. "It was one of those times in my life where I was literally shaking in fear. That's why I cut my hair, and why I continue to cut it."

Perhaps in the future, Lili can become an activist and spokesperson who will help others get their confidence back as they battle alopecia themselves!
