Born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. on October 20th, 1971 in Long Beach, California, Snoop's iconic rap name came from the cartoon character "Snoopy", which his parents nicknamed him because of his looks. After high school (which he attended with Cameron Diaz!), he had been recording mixtapes with his cousin, Nate Dogg.

The Beginnings for Snoop Dogg

Snoop originally kick-started his career in 1992 with the help of the legendary Dr. Dre, who discovered his talents and featured him on one of his albums.
