• Katharine McPhee is an American singer
  • She was currently in a tour of Asia
  • McPhee has cancelled her performances because of THIS

Unfortunately, life has happened. McPhee said on Instagram this Friday that she would miss the final two shows of the world famous live tour, where she has been performing as a special guest alongside husband, the legendary Canadian composer and producer David Foster. This is so that Katharine is able to return home to deal with a family "tragedy." Even celebrities have to postpone their plans when a loved one needs them. Katharine was quick to apologize to all of those who were expecting to see her in concert, trying to explain things as best she could, without giving too much away.

Katharine is putting family first

This is how she addressed her fans: "It is with a heavy heart that I announce that I have to miss our final two shows of our Asia run. David and I have had a horrible tragedy in our family and at least one of us needs to get back home to our family," she explained. But the singer didn’t give us any specific details about what had actually occurred.

This is how she concluded her statement. "Please know how sorry I am and how much I wish to return someday and perform for you all." This is a first in McPhee's career who has always been a showstopper for fans all over the world.

Also interesting:

Fans and friends were quick to lend their unconditional support to Katharine and her family. Several of the singer’s friends shared well wishes, including Nicole Scherzinger who wrote, "Sending my love and prayers for your family."

Linda Thompson was also once married to David Foster, and she said this: "Sending you and David love, & hoping that everything is OK." And fans were also very understanding of her situation. After all, family should come first for all of us. But David himself is not withdrawing just yet.

Foster, 73, will continue performing on the final two concerts of the Asia tour, which are scheduled in Jakarta’s Sentul International Convention Centre on Friday, Aug. 11 and Saturday, Aug. 12. What happens after that is still unclear, but we all wish Katharine and her family well!
