Robert LuPone is dead, the MCC Theater, where LuPone was artistic director, confirmed in a statement. He passed away on August 27 after suffering from pancreatic cancer. He was 76 years old.
Alongside his successful work on The Sopranos, he was also successful on Broadway. "The MCC Theater community mourns the loss of our much loved and uniquely inspiring partner, colleague, and dear friend, Bob LuPone, who lived fearlessly and with great curiosity, good humor, a boundless passion for connection, and a whole lot of heart," says the statement.
