Kim Kardashian

While nowadays most people recognize Kim Kardashian's face anywhere, there was a time this A-lister was an unknown reality star. Fans of KUWTK will remember this iconic episode in which her mother, Kris Jenner, scored the young Kardashian a chance to pose for the iconic magazine.

Those who watched the episode will remember that she actually was very nervous for her Playboy photoshoot, and was adamant that she didn't want to pose fully nude as she was afraid of what people would think of her since it hadn't been too long since her sex tape scandal hit the tabloids. Kardashian ended up following through on the photoshoot, which over a decade later proved to not be a mistake!

Naomi Campbell

Naomi Campbell was a huge icon in the 90s, paving the way for many supermodels to make their mark in fashion. The model posed for Playboy in 1999, and graced not only the cover but made history for appearing in a 14-page spread.

The spread featured the model completely nude in various different scenes and was one of the most bought issues to be released. Since then, in 2015, Playboy released a statement saying they would no longer feature fully nude models.

Drew Barrymore

Drew Barrymore was just 19 years old when she posed for Playboy in 1995. At the time, some people weren't approving of the young actresses' choice, including Steven Spielberg.

The famous director had always famously claimed he viewed Barrymore as if she were his own daughter, and when the issue was released, publicly made it clear was disapproving. A young Barrymore allegedly sent him a care package to apologize which featured photos of the star in a nun's outfit, with letters saying she was sorry, and how she's "seen the light".

Anna Nicole Smith

It comes as no surprise that Anna Nicole Smith would be on this list! The sexy starlet was featured a few times in the magazine and had even been crowned "Playmate of the Year" in 1993.

Her first cover featured a likeness to the inaugural cover in 1953 that featured Marilyn Monroe and was black in white with just a sheet covering the young star.

Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn Monroe was the first woman to ever be featured on Playboy. The Hollywood icon and sex symbol never technically posed for Playboy and was quite angered and shocked to find out she had been put on the cover.

The photos used for the magazine were actually taken before Marilyn had made it to the big screens in 1949. The photos were taken for 50$ so the young aspiring actress could make car payments but was promised she'd look unrecognizable in the pictures. Once Playboy founder Hugh Heffner found out about the photos, he allegedly bought them for 500$, and marketed the magazine as the first-ever with a full in-colour nude of the actress, and in 1953 the magazine was born.

Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott

Kylie Jenner posed for the magazine with her famous rapper boyfriend and father to her daughter, Travis Scott. Like her sister before her, the young makeup mogul wasn't too sure about posing for the magazine, however, it was because of the unusual circumstances that Jenner agreed.

Heffner and Scott agreed that Scott would be the creative director, and Jenner agreed to follow through on the photoshoot because she trusted Scott would lead her in a positive direction and allowed him to see his vision through. The couple's photos were a collection of both sexy but yet intimate photos.

Charlize Theron

Charlize Theron was always a woman that made people stop and look at her effortless beauty! While most of the time it's a good thing, Theron's feature in Playboy was another case of private photos being used without her permission.

Much like her predecessor Monroe, Theron posed for an intimate photoshoot before she had made a name for herself in Hollywood, and according to her, the photos were never supposed to be sold to any publication. Theron attempted to sue Playboy, but unfortunately lost the lawsuit.

Dolly Parton

Dolly Parton has notoriously said she didn't care if folks call her a floozy, but despite that, the country singer was rock solid in her deal with Playboy that she would pose for them, so long as she kept all her clothes on!

The country icon posed for the cover in 1978 in a bunny outfit, which soon became the staple look for the Playmates. Parton was promoting her studio album, Heartbreaker.
