David Letterman was born April 12th, 1947 in Indianapolis, Indiana. David would begin his career in college as a newscaster for the school's student-run radio station. After graduating with a degree in radio and television, David was inspired after watching host Paul Dixon of the Paul Dixon Show, deciding then and there that would be him one day!
David Letterman's Career
David Letterman's big break would come in 1980 after he caught the attention of producers with his humor while working on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. NBC rewarded his success with his own show The David Letterman Show.
In 1982, after winning two Emmy Awards, NBC decided to move David to the late night slot with Late Night with David Letterman. When the show moved to CBS in 1992 it changed its name to The Late Show with David Letterman, and altogether David's show would run for 33 years until his retirement in 2015!

While enjoying TV success, David Letterman was also chasing after the love of his life Regina Lasko! After his first marriage to college sweetheart Michelle Cook ended in 1977, Letterman would begin dating production manager Regina Lasko in 1986.
The now 61-year-old Lasko is known for managing shows including Another World, Saturday Night Live, and Late Night with David Letterman.
While David was hesitant to marry again, the adorable couple finally tied the knot in 2009! The couple has one son together, Harry Letterman. While their relationship has made the news multiple times with allegations of David cheating, the couple seems to be doing well in 2022!
