Changing daily habits can be quite challenging for some people, but not for Andy Cohen! During an appearance on the Today show, the 51-year-old television personality revealed how and why he decided to lose weight in the past few months. "So, this summer, I had a moment where I was like, I really felt like my suits were getting tight and it was beach season and I was wearing like button-downs to the beach and I’m like ‘I’m not this guy, I’m not doing this,'” he said. That's when he realized a change needed to be made!

The Bravo host, who has claimed to be a very tough critic of himself, revealed that the fact of seeing himself on a monitor every day messed a little bit with his head, "you’re forced to look in the mirror a lot because there is a monitor under these cameras that we are looking at," he said.

Then he went on to explain he has lost 12 pounds by watching what he eats. Andy Cohen also stopped drinking cocktails on Watch What Happens Livethe late-night talk show he has been hosting since 2009. A couple months ago he revealed one of his biggest challenges is monitoring his carbs and maintaining a cardio routine, "The funny thing is I’m usually the most out of shape in the summer. It’s ridiculous, but I like to eat hot dogs and hamburgers and ice cream in the summer and I just don’t believe in denying myself," he added.

Although Andy Cohen believes life is too short to not enjoy ourselves, the fact that he became a parent this year also made him consider a healthier lifestyle. In 2018 he announced he would become a father with the help of a surrogate mother.
