  • THIS is what we know so far

The rhythm of the music industry skipped a beat as the news of Aaron Spears' death was announced. The Grammy-nominated drummer and music producer, who had worked with high-profile artists like Ariana Grande, Usher, Lady Gaga, and Britney Spears, passed away at the age of 47.

Aaron helped create so many of the iconic songs of today

Spears' legacy is etched in the beats of Usher's 2004 Grammy-nominated album 'Confessions'. His drumming prowess was also showcased alongside the legendary James Brown at the Grammy Awards ceremony the following year.

His versatile talent saw him recording and touring with a wide array of artists. His talent extended beyond the drum set. He was the music coordinator and drummer for Season 3 of 'The Masked Singer' and served as the house drummer on the pilot episode of NBC’s 'Songland' in 2019.

Aaron Spears is survived by his wife Jessica and son August. His beats may have silenced, but his legacy lives on in the rhythms he created and the love he shared.

On Monday, Spears' wife Jessica shared news of her husband's death via his Instagram account "with a heavy heart and overwhelming sadness" and received tributes from many of the musicians he'd worked with throughout his career.

"Aaron was not only an incredibly accomplished drummer, admired by many for his unparalleled talent and passion for music, but he was also a devoted father to our precious son, August," wrote Jessica on Spears' Instagram. "His love, guidance, and warmth were the pillars of our family, and his absence leaves a void that words cannot describe. We were blessed to have him in our lives, and his legacy will live on through the beautiful rhythms he created and the love he shared with us."

Other stars have also joined the condolences themselves. Justin Bieber's social media tribute includes a video of himself and another drummer jamming at WeHo's Peppermint Club. They were playing Usher's hit, "Bad Girl" from his blockbuster 'Confessions"' album.

Ariana Grande commented on the post announcing the news, saying: "I can't wrap my head around this. We were all so incredibly lucky to know Aaron. The absolute brightest light of a human being. Always the kindest, always smiling, I am so honored and thankful our paths crossed and to have spent so much very special time together."

Aaron's family hasn't announced a cause of death. But his legacy was a very special one, and now it is a time for mourning! The world of music has certianly lost its beat today...
