Tragic: Influencers Who Died Way Too Soon

Claire Wineland

Wineland dedicated her social media career to talk about cystic fibrosis, a genetic condition she suffered from. This disease affects the lungs causing severe breathing problems. Claire shared her experience living with cystic fibrosis on her YouTube channel which had nearly half a million subscribers. Claire underwent a double lung transplant. Sadly, the procedure became complicated and Claire Wineland passed away in 2018 at the age of 21.

Etika

Desmond Daniel Amofah, better known as Etika, became extremely popular with his video game vlogs. Over time, users began to notice some strange and controversial behavior in his content, even thinking he had mental health issues. However, most thought it was just a game and that he was faking it to get views. In a 2019 video he talked about suicide, the video was removed by YouTube rules, but soon after he was reported missing. A few days later he was found lifeless... he was 29 years old.

Anabelle Ham

Annabelle Ham was known on social media for sharing her life as a college student, her beauty tricks and her amazing shopping. One of the topics she occasionally touched on her networks was the epileptic episodes she suffered from a while back trying to raise awareness about the condition. Sadly, the influencer passed away in July 2023 at the age of 22 from one of these events.

Ethan Peters

Under the name Ethan Is Supreme, Ethan was a well-known influencer whose content was based on makeup. With his controversial content, which usually consisted of being irreverent and criticizing celebrities of the moment, Ethan began to receive hate on social networks. In addition, Ethan had substance abuse problems. After being written off on social media, Ethan was found dead in 2020. The cause of death was an overdose... he was 17 years old.

Nicole Thea

Nicole Thea's story is extremely tragic. The influencer was known for her beauty and lifestyle content. Thea shared every moment of her pregnancy on social media being very open about the experience. Sadly, when she was 8 months pregnant, Nicole was found lifeless. Both she and her baby lost their lives in 2020 due to a sudden heart attack. Nicole Thea was 24 years old.

Talia Joy Castillo

Talia became extremely popular after appearing on the Ellen DeGeneres show. However, the 12-year-old had already created a large community on social media for her beauty and fashion content accompanied by her experiences with cancer, which she was diagnosed with at the age of 8. Sadly, Talia lost her battle with neuroblastoma cancer and leukemia in 2013 at the age of 13.

Landon Clifford

Along with his wife Camryn Turner, Landon Clifford rose to fame on social media for sharing his experience as a teenage father. In 2020, news broke that Landon had suffered a brain injury and was in a coma. A few days later he passed away at the age of 19. According to his wife, Landon took his own life after years of suffering from depression, anxiety and addictions.

Adam Perkins

Along with his twin brother Patrick, Adam Perkins was a notable influencer and musician. In April 2021, Patrick announced that his brother had passed away at the age of 24. According to the autopsy, Adam's cause of death was intoxication and overdose of various substances including fentanyl.

Social networks have represented a great change in how we relate to the world. Flesh and blood people have managed to make a name for themselves thanks to digital platforms. But the pressure of being a public figure can sometimes lead to dark situations.
