Gal Gadot is best-known for her portrayal of "Diana Prince" (AKA "Wonder Woman"), a role which she's performed in three DC Comics films since 2016. She reprised the role again in the film Wonder Woman 1984, which was released in 2020.

Gal Gadot's rise to fame as Miss Israel

Gal Gadot was born in Petah Tikva, Israel, on April 30, 1985. She descends from Holocaust survivors on her mother's side.

She first considered work in choreography as well as law, but she shifted to modelling when she was persuaded to participate in the 2004 Miss Israel pageant. She entered the pageant and became Miss Israel at the age of 18.

She also competed in the 2004 Miss Universe pageant as Miss Israel.

Gal Gadot's years in the IDF and modelling success

Shortly after her pageant win, Gadot served her mandatory two years in the Israeli Defense Forces as a combat instructor.

Following her time in the military, the Miss Israel winner launched a successful modelling career. She worked with Gucci and Jaguar and appeared as a cover girl in many magazines.

Gal Gadot's transition to acting

Gadot secured her first major acting role as "Gisele Yashar" in Fast & Furious in 2009. She would reprise the role in three more films in the franchise.

She also appeared around the same time in comedies including Date Night and Knight and Day.

Gal Gadot as "Wonder Woman" for a new generation

The Israeli actress landed her breakthrough Hollywood role as "Diana Prince" (AKA "Wonder Woman") ahead of the 2016 film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

"Wonder Woman" would soon get her own film, Wonder Woman, in 2017. Another appearance followed in Justice League. The recent film Wonder Woman 1984 was Gadot's second starring vehicle for the character.
