After a tour of the U.S. and a guest appearance at Piccadilly Circus in London, Van Ark made her Broadway debut in 1966 in “Barefoot in the Park.” That same year, she married John Marshall, a marriage that continues to this day. At the time, the young actress came across as demurely elegant, a far cry from the glamour of the primetime soap operas that would follow.
