Seeing as the special will take place during the coronavirus quarantine, the musicians will perform via specially recorded home videos. CMT Giants Kenny Rogers will reportedly also feature archival photos, interviews, and clips of Kenny Rogers.

In addition, the special will raise money for the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund.

Kenny Rogers: "Islands in the Stream," "The Gambler" singer

Kenny Rogers died of natural causes at the age of 81 on March 20, 2020. The country and pop music legend was known for hits including "Islands in the Stream" (a duet with Dolly Parton), "The Gambler," and "Coward of the County."

Several country artists paid tribute to Rogers with covers of his songs shortly after his death. But, with this new special, Rogers will get an organized send off with Country Music Television, which will also raise money for COVID-19 relief.

Tune into CMT on April 8 to remember Kenny Rogers. CMT Giants Kenny Rogers: A Benefit for MusiCares airs at 8 p.m. ET.
