News broke that Scooter Braun made a $300 million purchase to get the rights and own Taylor Swift's music catalog. The purchase was negotiated with Big Machine Label Group which is the record company that Swift left late last year. Founder of Big Machines Label Group, Scott Borchetta, is speaking out and defending their decision as well as defending Scooter Braun.

Taylor's tumblr post

Taylor Swift posted a blog on her tumblr account regarding the news and fans and artists everywhere have had a reaction. Swift described the bullying she endured from Braun over the course of her career and that she is "sad and grossed out" by this decision. She proceeded to say that "Scooter has stripped me of my life's work, that I wasn't given an opportunity to buy. Essentially, my musical legacy is about to lie in the hands of someone who tried to dismantle it, this is my worst case scenario."

Scott Borchetta is claiming that Swift knew about the deal a week prior as her father, Scott Swift is on the board of directors for Big Machine Label Group. While a rep for Swift is denying those claims, Justin Bieber has responded to the scandal sticking up for his manager Scooter Braun on Instagram. Demi Lovato has also spoken out and takes Braun's side as well.
