The Duke of Sussex is set to make his highly anticipated return to Britain next week for a five-day visit from 7 to 11 July. However, his wife Meghan and their children will not join him in London, according to HELLO!
Family Travel Plans Still Up in the Air
Prince Harry, 41, will travel alone to the capital, while the Duchess of Sussex, Prince Archie (seven) and Princess Lilibet (five) are not expected to accompany him there.
According to HELLO!, Harry has been actively trying to find a safe way to bring his family to the UK, despite concerns over protection and accommodation. No final decision has yet been made on whether Meghan, Archie and Lilibet will join him for other parts of the trip outside London.
Invictus Games Countdown
The visit primarily focuses on marking the one-year countdown to the Invictus Games in Birmingham. Family participation plans remain uncertain as Harry awaits a review by the Risk Management Board (RMB), part of Ravec’s security assessment process.
He learned on Friday that the review has not yet taken place, but his security team is working behind the scenes to ensure the trip can proceed safely. The Duke has previously said he would be “exploring every possible option.”
There is a possibility that Meghan may join Harry at an Invictus event at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, although Archie and Lilibet are not expected to attend any public engagements.
Hopes for Royal Reunion
There are hopes that the King will be able to reunite with his youngest grandchildren for the first time in four years. Archie and Lilibet last saw their grandfather in person during Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022.
The Duke has been involved in a longstanding legal dispute with the Home Office regarding security arrangements for him and his family when visiting the UK. This stems from the reduction in his protection level after stepping down as a senior working royal in 2020.
